REMINDER. If you purchased or refinanced your home in Indiana in 2020, applications for homestead deductions, mortgage exemptions, and other exemptions that enable property owners to reduce their property taxes, must be filed by December 31st.
Our recommendations:
- File your applications soon rather than waiting until the deadline
- File online if this option is available in your county
If you must file in person, check your county website for specific information. Some offices could have limited hours, fewer employees present, and/or restrictions on the number of patrons that are allowed in the office at the same time.
