As Chief Financial Officer, Evelyn Vela is responsible for all of the company’s financial functions including accounting, financial reporting, internal controls and management of escrow accounts.  Her seat at the table affords her a direct look at the wire fraud issues that are rampant in the title industry and Evelyn is instrumental in implementing cutting-edge procedures that ensure our clients’ funds remain protected.  Before joining Near North, Evelyn held a Portfolio Accounting Manager position at a private equity fund specializing in real estate investments. She holds a B.S. in Finance and Accountancy from DePaul University and is a licensed CPA in the state of Illinois.
